The Oaktown group was founded in December 2010 by Rugi Kavamahanga. He quickly added Muhammad Abdullah, a former classmate from the Penn State Smeal MBA’s class of 2009 to the management team. Rugi has always had a passion for clean energy and in 2010 discovered an opportunity in the solar industry. Solar energy projects were failing due to the lack of project financing. The Oaktown Group was formed to correct this problem. Each member of our team provides unique experience and expertise that have built our proprietary Oaktown Advantage.

He has 9 years of combined experience in marketing, financial modeling and managing political campaigns. Rugi excels at communicating complex information, coalition building and closing sales. Rugi has extensive international and multicultural experience. He is fluent in French, Spanish, Rwandese, and proficient in Bambara.

Muhammad spent three years as a Building services manager/ Leased Compliance Manager for the State of New Jersey’s Department of Property Management and Construction.

Prior to joining Oaktown Group Daniel worked with the U.S. Environmental Protection Agency (EPA) and was certified by the Environmental Systems Research Institute (ESRI). Daniel also was the founder of a successful natural products enterprise.
